Videotape earns ISU Dean honor

Fighting to uncover the origin of sexual harassment has garnered Anita Webb-Lupo, acting dean of the college of education, an award.
Webb-Lupo received the Kathryn G. Hansen Publication Award from the College and University Personnel Association for her work on the CUPA videotape, “Sexual Harassment: Issues and Answers.” “While serving on the CUPA publication advisory board, I noticed that the organization did not do any video work, only print material,” Webb-Lupo said. She then advocated that they needed to do more than just paperwork. “(I was) involved in the production from start to finish,” she said. Webb-Lupo said she wrote the script for the video and then sent proposals out for bids for the possibility of production. “Thirteen university and provide companies returned bids, and ultimately ISU Media Services was chosen to produce the video,” Webb-Lupo said. She said she also assisted Media Services in the production, direction and even acted in the film. “After it was over, it became a joke around the office that I started the video and ended the video,” she said. Since the video was released several years ago, it has been the association’s highest seller, Webb-Lupo added. This was part of the reason she was selected to receive the award, she said. Webb-Lupo is a two-term member of CUPA’s publication and research advisory board. |
